Learn With Fun - Level 1
Aum Yash Kendra presents Learn With Fun - Level 1. This course is designed for children aged 4-5 years. Like the name suggests - the class is all about having fun and making sure the learning happens harmoniously. Our level course finishes with the kids appearing for a Silver Grade Trinity Exam.
The formative years or the early stages of childhood are between 0-8 Years of a child's life where they learn more quickly than at any other time in life. In keeping with that, we have created a curriculum to facilitate learning with lots of fun! To understand more about what your child will explore in 'Learn With Fun' we have enlisted some of the key takeaways -
Programme Goals
Creative Movement
Creative Movement is a joyful way for children to explore movement, develop kinesthetic skills, channel energy, stimulate imagination and promote creativity. Moving and responding kinesthetically to music helps children build motor skills while allowing them to practice selfexpression.
World of Stories
Reading and storytelling with babies and children promotes brain development and imagination, develops language and emotions. Storytelling allows students to enter into different and imagined worlds to explore human behaviour and situations which further help children develop empathy and cultivate imaginative thinking
Vocal Awareness
Vocabulary building and sentence formation happens hand in hand with our storytelling. After going over the story for the first time, we read it again- stopping at every new word, making the kids understand the meaning of the word as well as the context in which it was used. Voice Modulation - This is a skill that is better taught from toddlerhood. Using the play way method we can help them with the pitch and tone modulation.
Social Emotional Learning
Commonly referred to by its acronym, SEL, is a method of promoting holistic child development by teaching students skills such as self-regulation, persistence, empathy, self-awareness, and mindfulness. We try to tie in SEL by way of reading stories that teach empathy, exploring role-play to develop children’s communication skills and aspects of human behaviour, as well as relationships that will improve their social health, playing vocabulary games that encourage children to talk and be aware of their emotions
Power of Play
Play sits at the heart of how young children explore new ideas and build an understanding of the world. Opportunities for play are vital, since for children, play is learning. Students are introduced to various forms of play - active play, language play, imaginative play, exploratory play, imaginative/fantasy play, social and interactive play. Play teaches children important skills and prepares them for life skills they will use throughout their childhood and adult lives. Most importantly, they learn about themselves – they get to know their personalities including their likes and dislikes, strengths and interests. Through play, children learn where they fit in in the world.
Day and Time
Tuesdays & Thursdays - 5.30pm to 6.30 pm
